Surat (Gujarat) [India], September 6 (ANI): Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday highlighted the increased water conversation in Gujarat while attending the virtual launch of ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Yojana’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Surat
CM Patel said that the conservation has increased by 11 lakh cubic metres in Gujarat. He also emphasised on the success of PM’s ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign.
“Gujarat has benefited from this scheme of the Prime Minister, Jal Sanchay Yojana and Sujalam Sufalam Yojana. The water conservation has increased by 11 lakh cubic metres in Gujarat. PM Modi’s Catch the Rain campaign was successful all over India. Apart from this, rainwater harvesting has also been successful in Gujarat and the country,” CM Patel said.
CM Patel also stated that Vadodara is the first district in the country to do rainwater harvesting in every village.
“Vadodara is the first district in the country where rainwater harvesting has been done in every village. Which is the key to Gujarat’s success,” CM Patel said,
Patel also highlighted the PM’s effort to develop the country, leading it to soon become the third-largest economic power in the world.
“Prime Minister always thinks ahead of time. He puts his ideas at the forefront for the country. With this vision of his, Gujarat is now taking the country ahead. The country is going to become the 3rd largest economic power in the world. The credit for this goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
PM Modi launched ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Initiative’ on Friday. The initiative is launched by the collaboration of Government of Gujarat and the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Under this programme, around 24,800 rainwater harvesting structures are made that will enrich rainwater harvesting and ensure long-term water sustainability across the state.
Speaking about the initiative, PM said that the country with an always visionary and comprehensive approach, needs to stand ahead to find solutions to battle with the water crisis for the whole world.
PM Modi further said, “It is said that all the living beings have originated from water and their lives depends on it. That’s why water donation and saving water for other is the biggest form of donation and the same thing was told by Rahim Das also. The country whose thinking and approach was visionary and comprehensive since past times; it needs to stand ahead in the world to find solutions for water crisis.” (ANI)
