Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], November 7 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ cleanliness drive organised at the racecourse on the eve of State Foundation Day.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the QR scanner made for street light complaints under the Dehradun Municipal Corporation. This scanner will be installed on the street light poles under the Dehradun Municipal Corporation. In case of street light failure, any person can scan it and register a complaint.
CM Dhami said, “Under the leadership of PM Modi we started the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan across the country and it has completed ten years. Continuously the country has moved forward towards cleanliness. It is very important to have cleanliness in our state as a lot of tourists, devotees, and pilgrims come here.”
The Chief Minister said that cleanliness and service programs are being organized across the state today in memory of those who died in the bus accident at Marchula in Almora five days ago. The Chief Minister prayed for the peace of the souls of those who died in the bus accident and the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Chief Minister said that as a result of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi 10 years ago, awareness among people towards cleanliness increased across the country. The Prime Minister’s vision of a clean and healthy India is coming true.
The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is an important state in terms of tourism and pilgrimage. He has appealed to all the people of the state to cooperate with the government in keeping Devbhoomi Uttarakhand clean by making cleanliness their routine.
The Chief Minister said that the state of Uttarakhand is entering the silver jubilee year. In these 24 years, with the support of people, the state has progressed rapidly in every field. To make this decade the decade of Uttarakhand, the state government is working on short-term, short-term and long-term plans in every field with public participation.
The Chief Minister said that today Uttarakhand is among the leading states of the country in many areas. Uttarakhand has got the first place in the country in the ranking of Sustainable Development Goals released by NITI Aayog. The state has received the category of Achievers in Ease of Doing Business and Leaders in Startup. There has been an increase of 33 percent in GSDP. Uttarakhand has also become a leading state in providing employment to the youth. The unemployment rate has been reduced by 4.4 percent in one year. (ANI)
