Bhadradri Kothagudem (Telangana) [India], July 27 (ANI): As the Godavari water level has crossed 53 feet, the Bhadrachalam Revenue Divisional Officer issued a third warning on Saturday to take necessary action, according to the District Public Relations Officer (PRO), Bhadradri Kothagudem.
The Bhadrachalam Revenue Divisional Officer sent a fax message to the Bhadrachalam Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Project Officer, Bhadradri Kothagudem Collector, and District Magistrate, stating that the Godavari water level had reached 53 feet at Bhadrachalam at 4:16 pm.
The third warning has been issued at Bhadrachalam, and all officers are advised to take the necessary action.
The message read, “Godavari Floods-2024, Bhadradri Kothagudem District, Bhadrachalam Division & Mandal, Godavari Water Level reached 53 feet (fifty-three feet) on July 27, 2024, at 4:16 pm. Third warning issued, and the forecast indicates a further rise. All the flood duty officers take action as per the Godavari flood manual.”
The District Collector said that the water level is gradually increasing due to incessant rains. Officials have been directed to move people from flood-affected areas to rehabilitation centers. People are requested to follow the advice and instructions of the district administration. Authorities and residents should stay very alert. People should not leave their houses and should call the control room for emergency services.
The water level of the Godavari at Bhadrachalam is constantly rising. It reached 53.20 feet at 6:00 pm, with a discharge of 14,36,573 cusecs.
The District PRO, Bhadradri Kothagudem, mentioned that the maximum flood occurred in 1986, with a level of 75.60 feet and a discharge of 27.02 lakh cusecs of water.
In 2022, the level reached 71.30 feet, and 21.78 lakh cusecs of water were discharged. (ANI)
