Warangal (Telangana) [India], July 27 (ANI): The Vigilance and Enforcement wing in Telangana’s Warangal, along with the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), the Mines, and the State Tax Departments, conducted a surprise check on the intervening nights of Friday and Saturday and seized 11 lorries (trucks) for overloading and other road transport violations.
According to Regional Vigilance and Enforcement officials, the joint surprise check was conducted at Komatapally Toll Gate, Hasanparthy Mandal.
They said that eleven lorries carrying sand, granite blocks, and dolomite were seized, including seven vehicles with sand, two carrying flyash, one with dolomite, and one with granite blocks, among other violations.
“The lorries were seized for overloading of sand, flyash, and granite blocks, and one was without a transit form (dolomite). They were shifted to the District Transport Office in Hanamkonda,” officials said.
Cases under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles (MV) (Amendment) Act, 1988, and the Mines and Mineral Development Regulation Act, 1957, were registered against the owners of the respective lorries, and a total fine of Rs 3.75 lakh was imposed on them, they added. (ANI)
