New Delhi [India], September 20 (ANI): Communist Party of India’s (CPI) leader D Raja criticised Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, claiming that the Home Minister has tried to deceive people instead of introspecting on who actually poses a “grave” threat to the Constitution and nation.
“Home Minister Amit Shah is making such statements, he should understand who poses a grave threat to the constitution, to the Indian nation, who wants to redefine Indian nationhood, who wants to re-write Indian history, who wants to challenge the present constitution, which defines India as a secular, democratic republic, he should answer, he is the home minister,” said the CPI leader.
He further said Shah has been diverting the attention of the people by talking about naxalism. He also claimed that the Shah should also explain to the people how he plans to address the issues of the tribal community as a whole.
“Instead, he picks up other issues and he thinks he can deceive people and divert their attention; that cannot work. Of course, we have differences with naxals, their strategy, and with their ideological positions, but at the same time, they are challenging the government of the day, they are questioning the policies of the government of the day, and they are raising the questions related to tribal welfare. Mr Amit Shah should explain, how this government is serving the tribal people, and helping them for their livelihood and upliftment,” he added.
Earlier, during interactions with the Naxal violence victims from Chhattisgarh, the Home Minister asserted that the government will uproot naxalism and the idea of naxalism from the country in a span of 1-1.5 years.
He said, “We will uproot Naxalism and the idea of Naxalism from this country and establish peace…The Narendra Modi government has been successful in ending Naxalism in the entire country except for 4 districts of Bastar. The date of 31.03.2026 has been fixed to bid final farewell to Naxalism from this country. I assure you that Naxalism will be ended before that.”
“I cannot retract the damage that has already been done, but I will try to ensure that innocent people don’t have to face any such issues,” he added.
The Home Minister also guaranteed support from the Centre for improved infrastructure and resources in the area.
“The Chhattisgarh government has requested help from the central government for the PM Awas Yojana and sanitation facilities. These services will be provided to you. The Home Ministry will manage health facilities linked to the Yojana, and a detailed plan will be created in partnership with the state government to tackle the Naxal issue,” he said. (ANI)
