Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand) [India], August 26 (ANI): On the auspicious occasion of ‘Janmashtami,’ Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the closing ceremony of the Shri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav 2024 at Gangolihat, Pithoragarh, on Monday. He reiterated his government’s commitment to reviving religious sites and preserving cultural heritage.
Sharing pictures of the event on the social media platform X, he said, “I attended the closing ceremony of the Shri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav 2024 in Gangolihat, Pithoragarh. My heart was filled with joy watching the performances by folk artists.”
In another post, he stated, “Our government is committed to reviving various religious sites and preserving the state’s cultural heritage. Under the Manaskhand Mandirmala Mission, several religious sites are being restored, and the systematic development of Shri Badrinath and Shri Kedarnath Dham is being carried out according to the master plan.”
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also took part in the main programme and cultural evening of Janmashtami, organised at the Dehradun Police Lines.
Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh was also present at the event.
Earlier today, Chief Minister Dhami participated in a community meal with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officials, workers, and senior citizens from Pithoragarh district during a ‘Tiffin Baithak’ on his visit to Gangolihat (Pithoragarh).
On this occasion, Dhami highlighted the cultural significance of community meals in India.
“A community meal holds a special place in Indian culture. Bringing food from home and eating together fosters goodwill, coordination, and cooperation,” the Chief Minister said. During the event, the CM also engaged in discussions with party officials on various topics related to the development of the organisation and the region.
“During my visit to Gangolihat (Pithoragarh), I had lunch with district BJP officials, workers, and senior citizens as part of the Tiffin meeting,” CM Dhami shared on the social media platform X.

Earlier today, Dhami offered prayers to Goddess Kali at the Maa Hatkalika Temple in Gangolihat (Pithoragarh), performing rituals with full devotion. The Chief Minister prayed to Maa Hatkalika for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state.
Sharing pictures of his temple visit on X, he stated, “Goddess Kali was worshipped with full rites and rituals at Maa Hatkalika Temple in Gangolihat (Pithoragarh). Prayers were offered to Maa Hatkalika for the happiness, prosperity, and progress of all the people of the state.” (ANI)
