Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 6 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday announced that the state government will celebrate Independence Day, Raksha Bandha and Krishna Janmashtami in the state.
In the Raksha Bandhan celebrations, the Madhya Pradesh government announced to give Rs 200 as “shagun” to all beneficiaries of Ladli Behna Yojana
On the arrangements of Raksha Bandhan, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav said, “As Raksha Bandhan is on August 19, we have decided that it will be celebrated from August 10, at 25,000 places in all panchayats, wards and districts, as it is also a step towards women empowerment. On this occasion, the Madhya Pradesh government will transfer the additional Rs 200 as “shagun” in accounts of beneficiaries of Ladli Behna Yojana, along with the Rs 1200.”
This announcement came while CM Yadav was addressing a BJP meeting in the party office in Bhopal.
Furthermore, CM Yadav announced the establishment of “police bands” all over the 55 districts of the state, who will participate in the Independence Day parade.
Informing about the constitution of police bands, Yadav said, “By 15th August, police bands will be ready in every district…The police bands will participate in the parade on the 15th August and 26th January…On 12, 13 and 14, flag hoisting will be held at the Martyr Memorial along with the police band at the district level.”
Adding that Independence Day and Republic Day holds greater significance in the country, Yadav said, “The two festivals of Republic Day and Independence Day carry greater significance than the other festivals, it has more than all other festivals. With tricolour in hand, we will awaken the society.”
Citing the Bangladesh crisis, Yadav said, “The importance of celebrating Independence Day or Republic is also increased when we look at the condition of the democracies of our neighbouring countries, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, whether they become independent earlier or later. What has happened in Bangladesh and what had happened in Pakistan earlier. This happened in these nations because there was lack of nationalists and national parties in those countries who can awaken the feeling of nationalism in citizens and raise awareness among the society.”
He further emphasised, “We are proud that we have PM Modi who won the elections with majority in 2014 and in 2024 also, he won for the third historic term. During the tenure of Nehru, democracy was in its earliest stages and today during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, democracy is stable. As a result, we should stand with the society and Madhya Pradesh should contribute effectively as BJP has won all 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh…”
CM Yadav also announced that the state will officially celebrate the Krishna Janmashtami all over the state and said, “As Mathura and Vrindavan is an important part in the life of Lord Shree Krishna, Madhya Pradesh is also important. There are lots of places in Madhya Pradesh, which are important from a point of view of Shree Krishna and hence we have decided to celebrate the Shree Krishna Janmashtami too in the state.” (ANI)
