Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], September 23 (ANI): Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand along with MAUD Principal Secretary Dana Kishore on Monday held a high-level meeting with GHMC, Hydra, HMDA, Rachakonda and Cyberabad Police officials over traffic management during heavy rains.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, City Police Commissioner held the meeting to enhance coordination and deploy quick response on roads and critical junctions during incessant, flash, and heavy rains for better traffic management and public safety.
The meeting emphasised proactive, concerted response by all the stakeholders and deliberated on the immediate measures required at critical junctions, which include proper diversions, transmitting weather forecast notifications and traffic advisories more quickly, signages, engineering changes required to prevent waterlogging and improving flow, etc. All the participants shared their observations, the measures being implemented in their jurisdictions and departments, and also elucidated the immediate and long-term plans to decongest traffic.
The meeting also decided on conducting a joint workshop, forming a high-level committee comprising the traffic commissioner of Tri-Police Commissionerates, GHMC and other departments, liaising with IT companies, monitoring and maintaining water levels in major water bodies, leveraging technology, a common communication platform for all departments, and other aspects were discussed during this meeting.
