Rewa (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 4 (ANI): Four students died after an old wall of a house next to a private school collapsed due to rain in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa, said police.
The tragic incident unfolded on Saturday when as many as five students and a woman got trapped under the wall, said police.
The police and rescue teams immediately started the rescue operation after receiving information about the incident, said police.
One student and a woman were safely evacuated and hospitalized, said the police, adding that they are currently undergoing treatment, said police.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs to the family of the deceased.
Speaking to ANI Rewa Division IG, Mahendra Singh Sikarwar informed, “An old wall of a house neighbouring a private school due to rain caved in. Five students and a woman were trapped under the wall. The Police and the administration rescued them immediately. Four students died, and one student and the woman were safe. They are undergoing treatment…CM has also announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs to the family of the deceased…”
