Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 18 (ANI): BJP National President JP Nadda on Monday slammed the Congress party and its allies in the upcoming Maharashtra polls, accusing them of not providing any “report card” while they were in power.
Addressing a rally in Navi Mumbai ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Nadda said that the Mahayuti and the NDA were practising a “politics of report card,” asserting that they had done what they promised and even accomplished things they hadn’t committed to.
He further criticised the Congress for only practising “divide and rule” and claimed they never focused on working for the state’s welfare
“Today, we are doing a politics of report card… We did what we said and also did that which we hadn’t even said…Have you heard in Congress’s tenure that they showed their report card? Have you heard if Sharad Pawar showed any report card? These people only divide and rule…never spoke about doing any work. But the Mahayuti and NDA under the leadership of PM Modi are moving forward towards development,” the BJP leader said.
Nadda further highlighted the growing support for the Mahayuti in the state, asserting that it would be the means to take Maharashtra forward through effective governance.
He underscored that the upcoming elections were not just about the change of government but about ensuring Maharashtra’s future development, framing the Mahayuti alliance as a vehicle for growth, progress, and advancement under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Wherever I go in Maharashtra, be it West Maharashtra, North Maharashtra, or Konkan, I hear the same voice that this time Mahayuti is going to come. I can also say that if there is Mahayuti, then it is the medium to take Maharashtra forward through a dynamic government. If there is Mahayuti, then there is progress. If there is Mahayuti, then there is advancement. If there is Mahayuti, then there is prosperity. I have come to request that the issue is not about the coming and going of governments. The issue is to take Maharashtra’s future-forward,” Nadda said.
The BJP National President further added, “When I say this, I can say in full belief and pride that the Mahayuti and NDA under the leadership of Modi ji have seen a new way of politics, culture, and a new way of working.”
Campaigning for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra has intensified, with both the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) making efforts to win over voters. The polls are scheduled for November 20, with counting to take place on November 23. (ANI)
