New Delhi [India], November 21 (ANI): Congress leader Udit Raj on Thursday alleged that the BJP can only secure electoral victories through manipulation and the misuse of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
“Yesterday, voters were not allowed to cast their votes in Karhal Assembly constituency (in UP). They (BJP) can win the elections only through manipulation and misuse of EVM…The people should teach them a lesson as they dissolved the government then bought MLAs and formed a new government in Maharashtra,” he said.
Udit Raj also alleged that the BJP would know the exit polls internally as they are the ones who manipulate the votes.
“They are giving everything to Gujarat. In Jharkhand also, they did wrong to the tribals. They have made up the issue of infiltrators…BJP would know the exit polls internally as they are the ones who manipulate the votes,” he added.
Udit Raj’s remarks came after various exit polls on Wednesday indicated that the ruling Mahayuti alliance, led by the BJP, was projected to retain power in Maharashtra. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) also appeared to have an edge in Jharkhand.
Most exit polls also suggested that Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance would put up a strong show in polls but is unlikely to cross the majority mark in the 288-member assembly.
Mahayuti alliance includes BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP).
In Jharkhand, exit polls predicted that the BJP-led alliance, including the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), would have a shot at forming the next government.
However, some polls suggested that the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance, which includes Congress, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), could emerge ahead. (ANI)
