Patna (Bihar) [India] August 18 (ANI): Ahead of the Assembly bypolls in Bihar, former MLA Sunil Pandey, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal on Sunday at the party office in Patna.
The four-time MLA from Tarari, Sunil Pandey has joined the BJP from Pashupati Paras-led Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP).
“I have been a worker of NDA since 2000, and now I have formally joined the BJP,” Sunil Pandey said after joining the BJP along with his supporters.
Sandeep Singh has last won Tarari when he was in Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United).
Sandeep Yadav started his political career in the Samata party in 2000, winning from the Piro assembly constituency, he won the seat in 2005 also. The Piro constituency was later succeeded by the Tarari assembly constituency in 2008.
In 2010, Sandeep Pandey contested from the Tarari constituency as a JD(U) candidate and gained a comfortable victory. In 2020, he fought for the seat as an Independent candidate and finished second.
The four-time MLA will be looking to regain the Tarari constituency in the upcoming bypoll election.
The election commission is yet to announce the dates for the bypolls in four constituencies, Tarari, Ramgarh, Jahanabad and Imamganj of Bihar.(ANI)
