New Delhi [India] August 24 (ANI): Telangana’s Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao met with Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat here on Saturday and urged him to allocate funds to support the development of the sector in the state.
Highlighting that Telangana has abundant resources necessary for the development of tourism, Rao explained that with adequate funding, the state’s tourism sector could reach new heights, according to an official statement.
In response, Union Minister Shekhawat assured full cooperation for the development of tourism in Telangana.
Later, Rao stated that the state government is exploring all possible avenues to develop Telangana’s tourism and is moving forward with a special plan.
He mentioned that Telangana is well-suited for eco-tourism, water bodies, temple tourism, and health and wellness tourism and that the state government has allocated funds in the annual budget with this in mind.
The Minister emphasized that the cooperation of the central government is also necessary for the development of Telangana’s tourism and that he had requested Minister Shekhawat for the allocation of funds. He also noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, a new tourism policy is being implemented with the goal of making Telangana the top destination in the country.
Accompanying the Minister were Telangana Tourism Department Chief Secretary Vani Prasad, Tourism Development Corporation MD Prakash Reddy, and others.
Meanwhile, Rao also responded to questions about the demolition of illegal constructions in the state.
“Action will be taken against those who encroach on government properties,” he said.
Rao further stated that government properties are public properties and that it is the government’s responsibility to protect them. He claimed that due to the mistakes of previous governments, government lands were encroached upon, and it is now necessary to preserve these resources for future generations. Therefore, steps will be taken to safeguard them.
He also mentioned that government systems are functioning independently, and the government has given complete freedom to the officials to act. (ANI)
