Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], August 23 (ANI): Odisha Minister Suresh Pujari said that the state government’s goal is to ensure every poor person in the state has land for housing within the next five years.
“The goal of the Mohan Majhi government is that there should not remain any poor person in Odisha who won’t have land for a house within the next five years,” Pujari stated. He emphasized that the project will be executed in a time-bound manner, reflecting the administration’s commitment to rapid and effective implementation.
In addition to residential land allocations, the scheme also addresses the needs of educational institutions facing land shortages.
“There are a lot of educational institutes that do not have enough land. They would also be provided with land by the end of this year,” Pujari added.
The revenue department has been tasked with facilitating the process for beneficiaries, ensuring smooth land distribution and support.
BJP MLA Agasti Behera highlighted the contrast with previous administrations and said, “The BJD and Congress are working together to obstruct the functioning of the Vidhan Sabha.”
“In contrast, our government has introduced a very good plan. The previous government failed to provide even an inch of land to ST/SC and OBC communities, but we are committed to ensuring that everyone receives land, housing, water, and electricity.”
Behera assured that “in the next five years, no one would be without land.” (ANI)
