New Delhi [India], July 23 (ANI): On the occasion of the birth anniversary of freedom fighters Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Chandrashekar Azad, Congress President and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge took to X to pay homage to the brave hearts who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle of the country.
“Respectful salutations to the brave son of Mother India, great revolutionary, immortal martyr Chandrashekhar Azad, on his birth anniversary, who sacrificed his life for the freedom of the motherland. The grateful nation will always remain indebted to his sacrifice, dedication and martyrdom for the country’s freedom,” Kharge said, paying homage to Azad.

The Indian National Congress also took to X, paying tribute to the freedom fighter.
“We pay our respects to the proponent of Swaraj, a visionary leader and founder of multiple institutions, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. His slogan, Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it, inspired many during the Indian Freedom Struggle and continues to echo among us,” it said, paying homage to Tilak.
Paying tribute to Azad, it said, “Heartfelt tributes on the birth anniversary of the brave son of Mother India, the great hero of the freedom struggle, Chandrashekhar Azad ji.”
Scholar, mathematician, philosopher, and passionate nationalist Bal Gangadhar Tilak helped create the framework for India’s independence by turning his opposition to British rule into a movement. He was the president of the Indian Home Rule League when it was created in 1914. He and Mohammed Ali Jinnah signed the Lucknow Pact in 1916, ensuring Hindu-Muslim cooperation in the nationalist movement.
On the other hand, during India’s independence movement, Chandrasekhar Azad was a revolutionary who formed and oversaw a group of young people who took part in the freedom movement.
