Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], July 23 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi appointed Boudh MLA Saroj Kumar Pradhan as the Government Chief Whip of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly.
MLA Remuna, Gobinda Chandra has been appointed as the Government Deputy Chief Whip.
“Hon’ble CM Sri @MohanMOdisha is pleased to appoint Sri Saroj Kumar Pradhan, Hon’ble MLA Boudh as the Government Chief Whip of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly. Sri Gobinda Chandra, MLA Remuna is appointed as the Government Deputy Chief Whip,” the office of Odisha Chief Minister posted on X.
Notably, Chief Minister and Minister of Finance Mohan Charan Majhi will present the state budget on July 25.
On Thursday, the Chief Minister of Odisha, Majhi said that “BJP will table the first budget in the Odisha Assembly on July 25, which will empower every community and person in the state,” he added.
He also said that the people of the state will now interact directly with the CM, as they couldn’t get access to or meet directly with the Chief Minister of the state for several years. It’s only possible under the BJP government.
“With the blessings of Lord Jagannath, the BJP has formed the first-time government in Odisha. The people’s CM will interact with people in the state, which was not possible during the last 24 years in the state. The BJP has dreamt of ‘Nua Odisha’ with a new government in the state,” CM Majhi said.
Notably, in the 18th Lok Sabha elections, BJP defeated BJD by securing victory in 20 seats, thus ending Naveen Patnaik’s 24-year-old reign as the Chief Minister.
In the state assembly elections, the BJP secured a majority by winning 78 seats out of 147 seats, while the BJD won only 51. (ANI)
